Flash Fiction Scene

Hi,

I know it’s been a couple of weeks since I posted. Sorry for that. Things have been a bit crazy around the house and it has taken me some down time to get going again. I hope that the last few days of editing, and making my weekly post is a sign of more days among the world of words.

Today’s scene simply comes from my fingers flying across the board while I sip my Cold Brew and stare at a black and white photo of an large mythical bird flying through a cove of flowers, trees, and other black and white plants that my mind can vividly see as bright green.

I hope the scene allows you to let your mind soar while you read.

He chewed on the fingernails that no longer existed – who named there son Ox – praying that he got the approval required for him and Ox to be one for the rest of their lives. It wasn’t an easy process. Ox had to prove to his leader that I had a solid understanding of Ox’s strange way of life. How did one do that? How could someone ensure another person, a powerful person, a man of authority, that someone could accept that soon as Ox, a man that was loved more than someone entire life, had the approval that he would have to answer to Ox. Hand over his entire life. There’d be no more making decision about his life. Ox would have the last say on what he could do. Where he could work. If he could work. How the housework would be done, even though Ox would never lift a finger to help. That once he sealed himself to Ox that he, a man, would be able to conceive a child. Not something that he totally understood, but he could accept it. Not like he hadn’t dreamed of children. Just not carrying them. He’d seen him and Ox going to adopt a little boy, or girl, that needed a home.

Basically, Ox had to prove that the man he chose, the man he knew would accept that buried deep in side him was a wild, untamed demon, who required total control.

The door squeaked as it opened. Ox’s tall, broad shoulders fill the doorway. There was no smile. No frown. Simply stoic expression. He propped himself against the doorframe and then held his hand out to him.

“Well?” he made his way over to his man.

“Come give your life over to me.”

They had it. Ox had done it. They would be one for the rest of their lives.

“You changed your mind?” a deep voice rumbled behind him, making him sprint over to Ox and wrap his arms around his waist.

“No, Sir.”

“You feared getting my approval?”

Ox stpped out fo the doorway, revealing a man that’s head all but brushed the top of the doorframe.

“Yes, Sir.”

Ox hugged him tighter, giving him a light squeeze. “My man fears everything. I bet he had been chewing on the tips of his fingers.”

“You mean fingernails?” Ox’s leader said.

“No.” Ox lifted his hand and showed them to the stranger. “You see he has a bad habit, that I can’t seem to break him of.”

“The combining might solve that problem.”

“When can we have it, Sir?”

“Soon as you leave.” The man patted Ox’s shoulder. “Go start your new life. Take my greatest happiness with you and bring your man into our world and start the next phase of your life.”

Ox nodded and tugged him towards the main door, nodding at the woman sitting behind the receptions desk.

I ground my throbbing dick against his as the darkness of the unlit corner seeped around us. The mere idea of doing such in public heightened my desire for Randal. We’d been together for ten years and never once had we graced a dance club of any kind. Tonight was a special night he arranged just for me. A fantasy night. Yet, my agreement to take our intense heat home seemed to have escaped his mind. Not that I was complaining. My lover felt amazing. Wild. Free. Sure not the calm and mild man I fell in love with all those years ago.
Fingers fumbled with the button on my jean.
“Got to work harder if your mind is wandering.”
“Not wander.” I sealed my lips over his as his hand slid inside, gripping my cock. I let his mouth swallow my moan.
“Need you.” Randal nipped my lower lip, slipping his way to his knees. “Got to taste you. Here. Now.”
“You sure?”
Wet heat surrounding my lower head was my answer. I refused to thrust my hip forward. I knew Randal rarely sucked me off. Wasn’t his favorite thing, but he was excellent at it. Besides he despised deep throating. Not that I minded.
A wet pop came and then he slid back down my cock, laving at the underside of my head, before he took me half way into his mouth, all he could take at one time.
“Damn, lover.” I dug my fingers into his hair. “Keep it up.” I held on as he continue to suck me. I kept telling myself to keep my mouth shut. To not draw attention. Not that it would have mattered. There were men making out all over the place, but . . . Randal was giving me the best Valentine’s Day gift ever. “Shit . . . I’m . . .”
My load shot down his throat and he swallowed each spurt increasing the hot need racing over me.

“Fourth time this week.”

I groaned. How would I get it through someone head that I’m not interested when he, or she, lord he hoped it was not a she, if they sign it anonymous.

“Jeff Rakes, get in here.”

“Shit.” I muttered. Another day started off on the wrong foot. I should have gotten my ass out of bed before him and came in early. That way I could have thrown whatever had been left on my

I didn’t bother in stopping off at my desk. I squared my shoudlers, tigenting my  grip on the bagged lunch I’d made for Tom before I left the house. Not sure why I did so, but I hoped it appeased his jealous mood.

“Tom, good morning.”

“Don’t morning me.”

I sat his lunch bag on his desk. “You left without anything this morning. Thought you might like my famous club today.”

“Though you could bribe me to ignore your new lover’s little show of affection.”

“Tom, honey, we’ve been over this everyday this week.”

Least those times had been at home where none of the nosy office workers could see a lover’s spat. Each time I told him the same thing. There was no lover. I had no idea who left me those things. Nor did I care.

“Obviously you don’t care to at least tell him to stop being so blunt about your outside relationship.”

“There is no outside relationship.” I sat down in the chair in front of him, crossing my arms.

“So you said all week.”

“That should tell you something.”

“Yeah, you think I’m a dunce.” He slapped his chest.

“Calm your tone, please.” Didn’t have to be looking out the glass office window to know the entire office heard him. “We are at work.”

“Don’t give a rats ass.”

“I do.” I stood and headed for the door.

“If you walk out . . .”

I spun and pointed my finger at him. Kind of diva of me, but I was fed-up with him accusing me of sleeping with someone else after ten fucking years of being at his side. Holding his hand until he worked his way up the corporate ladder and landed in the CEO chair.

“Listen here. Either you trust me, or you tell me to get the fuck out. I’m done with this shit.” Without waiting for a response I marched out to my desk, snatched up the small four-by-four package and carried it back to him. “This is what I think of the packages and you.” I dropped the box into his trash can and marched back out to my desk.

“Jeff?”

Kevin’s tone told all I needed to know. “Why?”

“Thought it was time I told you how I felt and I could never catch you without him at your side.”

“Did that not tell you something?”

“Should have.” Kevin sighed. “I didn’t mean to cause . . . Never wanted you to be unhappy. I’ll go and explain it to Mr. Price.”

“Please don’t.” It would just make him lose his mind and in the state he was in, Jeff might deck him. Then Jeff would lose his job. Not something I wanted, even if him not knowing cost me his love.

“Why?”

“I have my reasons.”

“Then I’ll leave it be and quit sending you things.”

“That would be appreciated.” My shoulders slumped. “Thanks for whatever you sent me today.”

“Thanks. I’m sorry, again.”

“Don’t worry about it.” What else was I to say? He’d most likely ruined my ten year relationship when all he had to do was let his affection be. Not like he didn’t know I was involved with someone. And had been for years.

Flash Fiction Scene - Exhaustion

Hi,

Sorry for missing last week. The week before was a vacation week and I found myself too exhausted to even think, let alone write a short scene. LOL. I think that is what led to this week’s flash fiction scene.

Hope you enjoy.

Fingers dug into the tender flesh of my back as her massaged my tight shoulders. As he crept down and down, I knew where his little massage would  turn into. Not that I minded a nice round of lovemaking, normally, but then I was almost too exhausted. The late shift had been super busy. Five fires were set and his crew had responded two the two biggest of them.

“Cain,” words whispered across his neck as his lover of five years kissed the base of his neck, sending shards of shivers over his skin.

Looked as his dick had different plans than his body did.

“New that would get you riled up.”

Cain’s hand dipped under his stomach, brushing the tip of his elongating cock.

“You always now, lover.” Truer words had never been spoken. First night they met, had been no different. Robert had walked up to him, grabbed his ass and pulled him into the most sensual dance anyone had ever seen. They still got compliments on it from the regulars at Hot Spots.

“Missed you so much, Baby.”

Cain pushed his ass back, soaking in the heat radiating from his lover’s throbbing cock.

“You want me to leave you be?”

“Hell, no.” Not then at least. Robert had him worked into a frenzy. He was more than ready for a nice long night that drove his exhaustion into complete darkness.

“Good. Going to show you how much I’ve missed you over the last four nights.”

Robert and him both hated the nights he was on twelve hours day shifts. Robert’s club kept him busy at night and Cain was already at work by the time Robert managed to come home.

“Show me, lover.” Cain squirmed until he was on his back and managed to wrap his legs around Robert’s waist. “Make me know who loves me.”

“Always.” Robert claimed his mouth as his hand slipped under his pillow, retrieving the lube they kept stashed.

Flash Fiction Scene – Stop The Anger

Can’t be happening. What has my world turned into? Total chaos? Devastation? Pain? Horrible dreams? Is it pure over reacting? Maybe. No. It is only fair for people, medical people especially, to talk to their patients before referrals are made. It is not fair for them to allow their patient to receive a call, unexpected and out of the blue, from a complete stranger about a program unknown to them. It is wrong. Unprofessional. Lord, have mercy, my life has turned upside down all because of one simple little phone call. How hard would it have been for the lady to pick up a phone and alert me that I would be receiving a call.
“What is wrong?” Kelly leaned against the door-jam.
“Nothing.” I snapped.
“Yeah, your nose just grew ten feet.”
“Did not.” I looked down to make sure.
“Then why are you sitting there rocking, like you always do when you are over stressing. I’ve not seen you do that since your final exam in Statics.”
Kelly was right. I had found my calm mojo over the last five years and this one incident was sending me into another realm of . . . What? Insanity? Yep. That’s what it was.
“Going to clue me in?”

Nope. Didn’t need Kelly telling me all the things I done told myself over the last two days. Simply, need to stop the anger and move forward. Do what I can and live my life.

Phrase Scene – Taken Back

Hi,

NaNoWrMo started yesterday so what a better way to kick the second day off than with a free written, non-edited phrase scene. Hope you enjoy this weeks. I sure loved writing it. In fact, I might end up incorporating this into a book at some point. I love the action in this scene.

Enjoy and remember:
Let your imagination soar when your read.

Raven threw his father’s office door open, slamming it into the wall. His father lunged to his feet, snarling.

“Son, what the hell?”

“Do not ask me that?”

“I believe I will. You barge in here in some kind of fit.”

“Where is he?”

“Who?”

His dad had retaken his seat and leaned back as he had no care in the world. The man didn’t. He had men who did his dirty work. Each problem that arose provided some low life a new job. Raven had never partaken in his father’s criminal lifestyle, which had been how his father had wanted it. His mom had made one request of her husband; keep their children out of his mobster style life.

“Do not play coy with me, old man.”

“Watch that tone of yours.”

“I’m not scared of you. Where the heck is Donavan?”

“Lord.” His father rolled his eyes. “Not my fault if you can’t keep up with your side toy.”

“He’s not a side toy. He’s my husband and I want to know what you did with him.”

“First, men don’t marry men. Second, men don’t love men. Third, I know he’s off bounds, so why are you here accusing me of something I would never do.”

Raven hadn’t thought his father would ever break his word, but two months ago he’d proven just how low he could stoop. William Calvin Thurman Senior had deemed it wise to inform the world that his middle son would be marrying some socialite from New York, even though his son had legally married his partner of ten years the moment the law legalized gay marriage. Jason had found out before Raven had. There love was solid, but such news, mixed in with knowing how persistent William Thurman Senior was, had Jason trucking it back to Texas on the first flight.

“Where is he father?”

“I do not have Jason. If he’s gone then someone . . .”

A deep cough had Raven spinning around to face his eldest brother, who had even less to do with the Thurman family than Raven did. “What are you doing here?”

“Same as you I would say, but I know a bit more than you do.”

Junior tossed him a disk. “Received this thirty minutes ago. Use dad’s computer and watch it.”

“What is it, Junior?” Raven’s father waved to his seat.

“The Rancho Gang decided it was time for payback for your buyout.”

“I’ll fucking kill them.” Raven flipped the desk over and lunged at his father. “If they hurt Jason or Rebecca you will not live to see the sun tomorrow. We clear?”

“Damn, little brother.” Junior’s words broke thru his anger fog. “You are more like the old man than I even thought.”

“Raven,” his dad held his hands up and took a step back, “calm yourself. I’ll get them both back.”

Two of the security guards came in and looked the room over. “Sir, you okay?”

“Yes. A family issue is all.”

Raven had enough standing around he dug through the pile of papers and found his father’s address book and flipped through a few pages. He ripped out the one he needed and stormed out of his office.

“Son, where you going.”

“To take them back.”

Powerful Word “Defiance”

This week’s word was listed under the pep talk section. The word doesn’t automatically make me think of talking myself into doing something. There are many people out there who will do everything they can just to defy something they are told they can’t. For this reason alone, the word is very powerful. Going against the grain or what we are told can show us just what type of person we are. In my opinion, it goes right down to the root of who we are. Each person has to decide what is best for him or her in every situation. So, when you’re told not to do something and then defy it, the reasoning behind it can enlighten others to what you are truly capable of. This is how I came up with this week’s scene. I warn you it’s not an upbeat scene, but I think it shows this weeks word in a powerful way.

Sit back and let my imagination take you into the world where defiance wins.

Defiance Wins

Ry pried my hands apart and tucked his fingers between mine. I tried to shake his hold lose, but he was dead set on keeping my hands separate. The reddened skinned told me why. I’d gotten lost in the memory of the last day I saw my mom and dad. We’d had a major fight about how I lived my life. It had always been a sore subject between us, but that day it was . . . the worse.

“Mr. Tatum,” a short guy, wearing a freshly pressed black suit offered me his hand. “I’m sorry for you loss.”

My loss? What a lame way to say death. My mom and dad had been ripped from this world way to earlier. Who was I kidding, they weren’t suppose to leave before we had made things right. They felt I defied them. I felt they betrayed me by not accepting who I was. Neither wanted to give an inch. Now there was no giving.

Ry took the man’s hand and said, “Blain’s still in shock. I’m Ry Kirkland, he’s asked me to help him make the arrangements.”

“Ah, yes. Mr. Kirkland, yes the Tatum’s lawyer told me to expect Mr. Tatum’s partner to be joining him.”

I’m not sure what sound I made, but it had Ry jerking his head towards me, and the suit-wearing guy taking a step back.

“Baby,” Ry lifted my chin and stared at me. “We knew to expected some issues, didn’t we?” I nodded at him. “This is just a road bump, like all the others we face for living our lives.”

“I’m sorry.” The suit-wearing guy cleared his throat. “I think my comment was misunderstood.”

“How so?” Ry stepped aside when I stood and wrapped my arm around his waist. More to ensure I stayed upright than anything else.

“The Tatum’s lawyer told me this, because I was to give Mr. Kirkland a sealed letter.” Suit-wearing guy moved to the desk behind us and spoke to the lady behind it.

The lady handed him an envelope and her rejoined us. “Mr. and Mrs. Tatum left this in their will. It in uncommon for me to deliver such items, but their lawyer insisted it was of the important to the arrangements.”

Ry took the letter and handed it to me. I shook my head and pushed the letter back at him. “It’s yours. You read it.”

I watched as Ry peeled the flap back and slid a yellow, legal pad style sheet of paper out. From the small, fine print I knew my dad had written the letter. From the two signatures on the bottom I knew they’d both partook in creating their message. I just hoped it wasn’t more devastating news. If it was, I might just defy them in the worst way. I wouldn’t, Ry wouldn’t let me. He’d bow out and let me burry my parents. I wasn’t so sure I could do so without him at my side. The rest of my parent’s family despised me for who I was. Dad’s side of the family had no qualms about calling me the vilest names. They all believed me to be the devil. Each one of them had ceased being my family the day I left in our right defiance of my father’s demand to marry a woman.

“Baby,” Ry took my hand and laid the paper down, “read what your parents has requested.”

I started to ask him why, but the thin line of tears on his face had me angry and curious. I quickly scanned the last wishes of my parents and as I read it a second time, my legs buckled. Ry caught me and pulled me into his chest. Sobs rippled from me. Grief. Pain. Love. Admiration. But above all was relief. Not at their deaths, but at them telling Ry they accepted him, they accepted me, and they wished for a copy of our commitment ceremony photo to be placed in their casket.

“Did you read it all?” Ry pulled me back so he could see my face.

I nodded and grinned. “They said I didn’t defy them. That they defined their responsibility to their son.”

Ry kissed my forehead and said, “Your defiance won them over, even if they couldn’t bring themselves to defy their parents to tell you personally.”

Zebra
The seven foot man yanked the scarf away from his face, earning a gasp from Jag and Chief Parker.
“Rave Mitchel. I’d shake your hand if I knew your end game in all of this.” A grin split my face, but I wasn’t sure if it was for his unexpected arrival or him sending me to Dav Community.
“I’d pay you the honor you are due, if I knew you hadn’t put my son in so much danger.” TeaLeaf huffed and tossed his head at me. “I’d let my son out or step aside if you value your life.”
“Why?” I winked at Tealeaf. “I like him safely tucked away.”
“You might not if that ray of sunlight gets any brighter.” Sham stepped away “Or, we could open the door and let it zap these four rat bastards.”
“Wouldn’t kill them.” Rave Mitchel slapped a pair of magical cuffs on Ronald and the other four Spirit Council members were cuffed by the other guys with Rave. “Ying and Yang are immune to Demon Travelers. Just like we are.”
Ronald’s head whipped around. “You can’t be. Only . . .”
“That’s right. Only the Zebra race and your filthy murdering kind are stronger than Demon Delivers.” Rave shoved Ronald over to one of his other guys then faced TeaLeaf. “How did you know I was due honor?”
“Zebra race wasn’t forgotten by all.” TeaLeaf gave a small bow. “My family passed your story down to each generation. I’m afraid I feared being able to do so with my own son, but today I was able to.”
Rave frowned and then motioned for me to come forward. “I promise I am no threat to you or your helpmate. I would like to make my apology to everyone at once, if I may.”
“Apology?” I stepped aside and Beau rushed out of the closet.
“Vain, be ready to . . .” TeaLeaf shook his head as Beau shot from the closet.
Beau darted toward the Spirit Council, but I caught him by the shirttail. He whipped his head around at me and then lowered his head when I scowled at him.
“They are secure and won’t hurt me or your dad.” I kissed his nose and then nuzzled it. He threw his arms around my neck. “Let’s listen to Rave and see if he can fill us in a bit more.”
“Fine, but he best have a damn good reason or I’ll find someway to harm his Zebra ass.” Beau glared at Rave, who had the gall to smile at Beau, which irked me enough I snarled at him until he diverted his eyes.
“Sorry.” Rave motioned towards the chairs. “I’ll start with how I survived the Ying and Yang deadly attack.” He focused on Ronald. “I was my father’s eldest son. No one knew about me, because my mother refused to join him on X-on and he didn’t want to separate her from me. He came to see me often, even left me a will, which was delivered to me the day X-on buried him.”
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. The ruler of X-on had a human lover, which as far as I knew was a major no-no for our kind. Or it had been since the Spirit Council took control. Might have been different back then.
“I spent years among years rebuilding my race and hunting a way to gain revenge for my father and his chosen woman.” Rave sighed. “Took me way longer than I hoped, but when I ran across this young man,” he pointed at Beau, “I knew what had to be done.”
“Fuck.” TeaLeaf jumped to his feet. “You knew my son was in danger and you let him remain in those bastards hands.”
Jag was tugging on Tealeaf’s arm, but only half heartedly. It might have been Jag’s way of refraining from attacking a supernatural creature ten times stronger than him.
“I did and for that I’m sorry. I realized the best way to gain my revenge was to unite young Beau with his helpmate.” Rave threw his hand up, cutting off my interruption. “Vain, I apologizes for keeping you away from him for so long. I had to make sure there were a few of my own race around to ensure we had all the Ying and Yang present.”
“How did you know Beau was my helpmate?” I asked.
“One of my gifts is to know who each supernatural belongs to.” Rave shrugged and faced TeaLeaf. “I knew Beau was a Demon Deliver, but I had no clue until the other day that he was the son of the legendary TeaLeaf. If I had, I would’ve reached out to Sham before I sent Vain to town.”
Beau ran his hand over his face and shook his head. “When did you find me?”
Vain squeezed Beau, but wasn’t sure if that relieved his helpmate or not. Wasn’t even sure if it helped me or not. I could’ve been with Beau for a whole, but the situation could’ve been a hell of a lot worse if I’d came rushing down here a year ago. I would’ve been caught and TeaLeaf would’ve as well. Which meant most of the people living in the underworld would’ve died before every reaching X-on again.
“What is your plan next?” I asked.
“I’m going to take control of X-on and put it right.” Rave answered as if he had indeed thought about this for many years.
“What does that mean exactly?” Chief Parker crossed his arms. “Because I’ll tell you some of us don’t mind living on Earth. Never did, but we didn’t feel it was right for any of our kind to be forced to come here.”
Rave grinned. “I love Earth. Hate what they have done to it. I’ll be working with the humans to create a better compromise between us and them. Put safe guards in place for the ones who wishes to stay on Earth. The ones who wish to go home, is free to do so. There I’ll be reinserting the old ways of life, where they have a say of how X-on is ran.”
It sounded as if Rave was going to give TeaLeaf, Jag, Sham, and me what we’d been working towards since the Gutting War ended. I longed to return to X-on, but I wouldn’t if Beau didn’t want to go. My life was with him and that wouldn’t change for nothing.
Beau must have been linked to me because he leaned back and said, “I’d love to see this X-on and maybe even spend some time over there with you. Never know I may love the place. After all, I love you and as long as have you I’ll be happy.”
“Words to steel my heart.” I kissed his neck and we sat there while Rave and his men took the ex-Spirit Council away
“Guess, this means we’ll all be returning to X-on soon.” Sham looked at them all.
“For a few days at least.” Chief Parker patted Sham’s hand.
“That’s the future.” Beau pushed away from me and took hold of my hand. “For now, me and Vain are going to go enjoy the present.”

The End

This concludes the A to Z April Blogging Challenge. This has been a month of wonderful visits to different participating blogs. I thoroughly enjoyed each one of them. I’m already looking forward to next years.

I hope all enjoyed the story and remember always let your imagination soar when your read or write.
