Exploration of Powerful Words

I’ve decided to do some posts (not sure how many) about Powerful Words. Yes, all words are powerful and have meaning when writing. But, there are some words that are stronger and create a more vivid imagine in a reader’s mind. These are the words that will take you from sitting on the edge of your chair in a matter of seconds to balling your eyes out from an amazing, wonderful moment. That’s what these posts will be about.

Each post related to these words will be titled Powerful Word. Hope each of you enjoy each post as they come up.

Writers use words to convey images, emotions, and to make a point. The strongest emotion that one can feel in my opinion is FEAR, because so many more can steam from that one intense feeling that we strive to keep hidden from everyone and even our own self. For example, fear can lead to anger, hatred, loathing and many more dangerous and non-dangerous emotions.

This is why it makes the word so powerful. Plus, there are just so many ways to express our fears. Probably more than one person can think of. I say this because we each react differently, after all our reactions and thinking patterns is what makes us unique.

One of the obvious ways to express fears in when you describe a woman huddled in a corner shaking like a leave. An unobvious ways or ways that may be mistaken for other emotions is: a woman standing tensely while nibbling on her lower lip. Most would hear this and think nervous or worry, but a few months back I saw a friend of my doing this and asked her what her so bothered. She went on to tell me how she was fearful of some expectant results. There was some worry mixed in there, but the emotions she pinpointed was fear. Made me realize just how differently we each react and define what is bothering us.

Remember there are more Powerful Words Post coming, so keep an eye out for them.

Have a great week and remember,
Let your imagination soar when you read or write.
