Finally! Carlito wanted to shout, and scream, he found her. His Mother Earth mate. Two interruptions, two slip, and her lack of recognizing they were mates made no sense. Information was needed. She was a witch, so why hadn’t she reacted. Why had she been scared of the clan master of the South Beach Clan? All those things had to be answered. Not only that he had to find out who and where she was. Could it be done? Would it open more cans of worms? Would it lead to the conclusion of the King, Singer, and Laker intertwined life journey?

Interview with the Author of: Fighting Down Into The Kingdom of Dreams, Robin Wyatt Dunn.

Today you are in for a treat. I’ve got an interview from Robin Wyatt Dunn, who is eligible for the John W. Campbell award this year for new science fiction/ fantasy writers.

Robin Wyatt Dunn's website is: http://www.robindunn.com/

FIGHTING DOWN INTO THE KINGDOM OF DREAMS
Q: Robin? Who are you?
A: I'm this guy. A writer.

Q: Why are you here?
A: I'm not sure. Wait a minute, I thought you meant, "on earth." I'm here to spread the word about my new fantasy novel.

Q: I heard you're eligible for the John W. Campbell award this year.
A: You didn't hear it from me.

Q: So what's this book all about then?
A: It's about Hrothbert of the Ingavones. He's like Beowulf, only more sensitive, and written 1200 years later.

Q: Are there dragons?
A: No.

Q: A fantasy novel without dragons??
A: There are monsters called neddinga. But they're smaller than dragons.

Q: What's their deal?
A: I'm not sure. They live underground.

Q: What do you mean, you're not sure? You wrote it.
A: You're frightening me, now. I'm only a writer.

Q: How can I frighten you? I am you.
A: That's what being a writer is all about.

Q: You're an insane person.
A: That's not a question. Anyway, keep an eye out for it, eh? FIGHTING DOWN INTO THE KINGDOM OF DREAMS; to be published June 5, 2014.

Thanks Mr. Wyatt and thanks for sharing your interview with me. Wish you the best of luck on the John W. Campbell.

Setting Goals (Continuation of last weeks post)

Where do you want to be five years down the road?

We all ask ourselves this question at some point and time in our lives. It’s a very valid question that gets asked lots of time during our life. Most time we hear it even before we start school. As we age it becomes a more serious question. In fact, it always was, but at a younger age we don’t see just how important it is. We are busy being a child and that’s the way it needs to be. But, this question allows us to start to figure out how to set goals and find ways to reach them.

I heard of an exercise that may help people achieve finding this true desire. (This exercise was mentioned by the author of Write-A-Thon by Rochelle Melander) I hope each will take the time to do this and see if it works. Each day for a week write 20 minutes/day about where your life will be in five years if all goals and dreams have been met.

Doing this will allow us to find out what we need to accomplish to manage our time to achieve our goals, whether they be writing or whatever your dream is. One thing is clear to me, no matter what we dream of it requires managing your time. Setting goals allows you to do this.

Hope you all are finding this information helpful. There will be another post along this line next week.

Have a great week.

Managing Writing Time

Writer manages their writing time differently. I find it intriguing to learn how and where some writers wrote their latest book. Gives us an insight on the writer, and story. Even lets us know if it came to life in a strange, yet wonderful way. You truly never know where and idea will come.

What also intrigues me is that such a simple act of managing time can turn into something beyond great. That makes me want get a peek into how each person does it. So, over the next several weeks, I’m going to be posting steps that I take to help managing my writing time and keep producing wonderful stories that gives your imagination a workout.

Managing time just doesn’t apply to writers. In our fast paced lifestyle everyone needs to micromanage their time in order to get the most out of it. We all forget to do so much or skirt over what we do. So before this weeks post ends I’d also like to state that everyone has to have breaks to stop and smell the relaxing life that we each work so hard to achieve. If we don’t then what good is reaching any goals we set in our life.

Have an amazing week.
Don’t forget check back next week to see the first step I took to Manage My Writing Time

Cliché’s use them or not.

Hey everyone,

Hope your weekend was a blast. Mine was pretty busy. That's always a good things. Give me a chance to work on my current project for you guys as well as come up with ideas and thoughts to post on here.

This weeks post comes due from my time doing a last edit on book 4 of the Journey Series. (Will be announcing it's release date sometime this week.) While I was working away it dawned on me just how often in life and my writing this topic comes up. Thought it'd make a great topic for this weeks post.

We all know what a cliché is. Most even use them. Some view them as useable only during snarky moments. Some do so to be a bit funny. Then there’s the ones that slip in and we don’t even me them to. No matter how we or why they get applied, they’ve become a part of life for most.

I know I tend to slip them in more often than most. Does that mean all the times, us writers are told to avoid using cliché are correct? Think that depends on the characters as well as the writers. There are some authors who out right refuses to use them. Still, there are some who do so sparingly. Most of us, (or in my opinion) try to find way to spruce a cliché up.

What does that mean? How can you spruce up a cliché? Answer seems simply. You simply find a new unique way of applying it to a certain situation. Not so simply. How could it be? You are attempting to take an already unique and cute saying and changing it into something even cuter and more unique to a certain aspect in a story.

This is not an easy thing to do. Yet, when it happens, it feels like one of those ah moments. Then you’ve added a prefect amount of bite, laughter or whatever you were after from that cliché. Never know you might create the next huge cliché.

Hope all has an amazing week.
