Flash Fiction Scene Phrase – Where to go from here?

Hi,
Last week was difficult and full of decision for me, which is why I came up with this week’s Flash Fiction Phrase.

Where to go from here?

Have a great week and remember:
Let your imagination soar when you read.

The door banged shut behind me, singingly the end. End of what? Me and Jack. My future. My life. Drastic thought, but what would anyone else thing after their ten-year lover cheated with their best friend. How could Joshua encroach on his man? Why? They were best friends since middle school.

A throat cleared behind him. “Robert.”

Jack’s tight tone was a dead giveaway of his state of mind. Sorry. There’d been many times over the last ten years he heard that tiny tone after Jack was late when he promised to be home from the office on time, or when he wrecked a car, or made a stupid ass comment. None of them felt false before.

“Robert, please let me explain.”

“Everything was clear.” How could it not have been. He’d caught Jack with his dick stuck up Joshua’s ass, while Joshua grunted, declaring his enjoyment.

“I’m not sure how it happened.”

“Don’t.”

“Please. It was a stupid, stupid, idiotic, one time mistake.”

He did not want to hear any excuse. It did not matter how many times, what did was that he could no longer trust Jack, or Joshua. Two men who’d been closer to him than anyone else. “Leave.”
