Adam remained out of sight as the red-headed beauty battled
for her life. She had the perfect round house kick and her punches were solid.
She was also making his partner sweat, which not many did. Part of him
screamed, “Get your partner’s back. You have a job to do.” Another part of him,
the biggest part, was intrigued by the battling beauty.
He knew he shouldn’t be. After all she was a demon, his job
was to eliminate them from the world. Adam’s boss didn’t believe in letting one
demon go, but there was something about the woman in front of him.
“You going to help me out here.” His partner shouted as he
dodged a right hook.
“Looks like you have it under control.” It didn’t. The
red-headed beauty that Adam’s boss called Angel Combat slammed the heel of her
foot into his partner’s knee, sending him to the ground.
His partner rolled to his left, barely missing the hard foot
that was headed for his head. “Quit staring and help me get her.”
Adam sighed and walked up behind the woman, clamping his
arms around her waist and arms before she could spin around and attack him.
“Let’s calm down.”
“Hell, no.”
“Now, that’s no way for a beautiful woman to speak to the
man who’s going to save her.
“Sure is if he’s going to kill me to save me.”
“Who said such a thing?” Adam knew his partner hadn’t, but
the woman, like all demons, knew that if a Demon Bounty Hunter came a calling
that they were dead if caught.
“Thanks.” His partner jumped to his feet and pulled the
light silver demon blade from his side.
“Why’d you watch for so long. We’ve got
six more hits tonight.”
Adam didn’t know. Nor did he know why his cock was growing
each time the red-headed beauty squirmed. It was a reaction he’d never
experienced before. Demon Bounty Hunters weren’t allowed to be attracted to
anyone. Some claimed they had been, but they’d always recounted their words
after speaking to the leader of them. Their excuse had been that a demon had
controlled their body. Adam knew no one was controlling him. He was more than
aware of how his body was reacting to the woman he was supposed to kill.
His partner’s blade glowed white as he pulled it over his
head. Just as the blade began moving toward Angel, Adam spun so his back would
take the blow. The blade wouldn’t hurt him; it was designated to kill only
evil.
“What are you doing?” His partner shouted.
Adam had no idea, but he wasn’t letting Angel die.

ReplyDeleteI like it so far. Adam's got some explaining to do. :)
ReplyDeleteEEK! Being attracted to a demon you're meant to be killing is never a good thing! :/
ReplyDeleteExcellent start to the challenge, Julia. I really enjoyed this little piece, and look forward to reading more from you!
