My prayers are with those affected by the hurricane, but I hope all are safe and received little, to no, damage. Garry shoved his hands in his pocket, cursing his parents and their heritage. They never understood him. Not shocking. He wasn’t like them, or his two brothers, and his baby sister. He was a speck of brown goop on a thin piece of hay buried among a huge pile of hay. And they never let him forget it.

Today had been no different. Why had he thought it would be? It was only a major milestone in his life. Unlike his brother and sister, his slim panther went into heat every three months. The heat didn’t arrive until the age of twenty-one, and it wasn’t an easy period for an Omega Panther. Worse on those who are not claimed by anyone. Not only did the Omega Panther suffer went a constant urge to mate while his heat was on him, but if they had no mate they had to find a partner that was willing to take a chance on impregnating them. That wasn’t easy.

When an Omega Panther wasn’t in heat they had a line of men at their doors. Natural order of things among the Panther World. Why wasn’t it. After all, how else would other panthers find their mate. The signs did not appear until you were locked together. Then it was said to be like a pop of magic bursting through your skin, and throwing the Alpha, or beta, and on a rare occasion a Gama into a rut. His brother told him it was like a moment of pure bliss for the stronger panther, but for those Omega Panthers, it wasn’t fun. His brother swore that when the mate recognized his soul mate he lost himself to the drive to claim him. Worse, his brother told him the stronger panther cared little about what the Omega Panther wanted.

“You in there, Garry.”

Garry curled his knees into his chest and buried his head in his chest. He wasn’t about to open the door to anyone. He didn’t care if his body screamed for him to screw a monkey for relief. He did not want some strong ass panther taking him until his heat had by passed him. Nope. He wasn’t going to risk getting pregnant. Men did not do such.

“Come on, Garry. I know you are in there.”

Human men didn’t at least. Nope. Only strange, weak, powerless Omega Panthers did so. He would not be taken by some brute until his body was limp and sated. Nope. He had control over his panther side.

“Garry, come on, man. I know you are scared.”

Scared? What did Edwards expect from him?

“Open up and let me help you.”

No way. Did Edward think him stupid? There was no way he’d let in a Alpha Panther, even if he’d been his best friend since seventh grade.

“I can control myself. I promise.”

Nope. He wasn’t taking the chance. Not that it would have bothered him to screw Edward any other time, but not during his first heat cycle. Nope. He wanted a simple, get to know you kind of relationship. Not a fuck and imprgenant you then leave your ass to struggle through a pregnancy and raising a cub on your own.

“Listen . . . Garry, I know that you have no one to help you through this, or explain what is happening to you.”

Didn’t matter if he did or not. There was no way he was opening the door.

“I brought someone that can explain what to expect and how to ease your panther.”

“You serious?” Garry didn’t bother to yell or anything, he knew Edward would hear him through the walls.

“Yes, man. You know Darren Kites?”

He did. Man was nice and always willing to assist anyone who was struggling with any type of math. “He’s an Omega?”

“Yes.”

“You leave us be?”

“I’ll go and stay downstairs until you and him have discussed things.”

“Then stay away if I ask you to?”

Garry heard Edward sighed, but the soft yes that slipped free of him eased a huge part of Garry’s throbbing heart. He didn’t need to see Edward to know that his head hung low and his fist were clinched. It was Edward’s natural reaction to anything he disliked, and he knew his best friend would be displeased about being asked to leave him be. Course he would. He was an Alpha Panther near a Omega Panther that was in heat.

“I’m leaving.”

Garry uncurled from the painful ball he’d squashed himself into and moved to his front door. He opened it a tiny bit, but left the safety chain in place.

“It’s just me, Garry.”

He shut the door and unchained the door, opening it for Darren. “Come in.”

“Going to tell you right up front, what you’ve been told is not true.”

“What? How do you . . .” Edward. “He had no right to . . .” Course he would tell Darren what he knew. He was his best friend. He had begged him to find an Omega Panther to talk to since the night they’d gotten drunk and he let his deepest fear slip from his lips. That night things had changed between them. Not in a bad way. Nope. They’d became closer. Spent more time together. Nothing sexual, but there been times that Garry would have loved for Edward to take him in the most natural manner of a panther, but he’d never showed interest in him, so Garry kept his desires to himself.

“He’s worried about you.”

“He’s an Alpha Panther.”

“Yes, but what you’ve been told is incorrect.”

“What . . . My mom said . . .” would she have lied to him? Surely not. His father told him the same thing. So had his brother. Did they all lie to him. “My mom, dad, and brother - -“

“Your family are what you would call Alpha Controlled.”

“Huh?”

“It’s a family who believes they are above anyone else. I bet they have never been around a Beta, or Gama, have they?”

“No. That would . . .” Crap. Darren was right. All his family, right down to his grandparents viewed anyone other than another Alpha as lower class. “Is that why . . .”

“Most Alpha Controlled families kill any child born below their Alpha Status. Most view it as a disgrace for one of their children to be born something other than Alpha. In fact, very few of the Alpha Controlled families give birth to anything other than Alpha. There’s something about their blood that breeds nothing but Alpha. Those who bare children other than Alphas take it as an offense against their lives. View it as they did something wrong in their life and have to make amends for it. That’s why most kill the child they view as defected. Those who let their non-alpha children live usually feed them lies and treat them like shit.”

Fit his family like a tee. Neither of his parnts every gave him praises, came to watch him in events in school, or took him to any gathering. He was always left behind with a baby sitter. Still, . . . how could his family openling lie to him about what he would go through. If they had then . . .

“That’s why Edward did not knock the door down?”

“I assume you were told that an Alpha next to an in heat Omega Panther would tear through anything to get to him. Right?”

“Basically.”

“Did that happen?”

“No, but surely . . . Edward has always had great control over his panther.”

“True, but if what your family said was right then why did Nitro not rush across the hall the moment your scent penetrated the airwaves.”

Crap. He’d forgotten that his neighbor was an Alpha Panther. How come . . . Why hadn’t he . . . he kicked flopped down onto the couch and motionted for Darren to sit. “Think  . . . no, I know I need the truth.”

“I’ll make it quick and let you get to easing the distress that is wearing at you.”

“That would  be great.” He was barely controlling his urges for relief. Looked as if he’d spend his first heat cycle with his hand. Nothing more than he’d expected, but at least he’d know if he had to keep himself locked away until it passed.

Flash Fiction Word - SPARK

Hi,
Hope all had a great week. Mine’s been busy editing Book 4 of the Human-Skinned Wolves Series. I’m also doing some free writing in between as well. Hard at work, but doing these flash fiction scenes give me a small break. Plus, ignites my creativity.
Have a great week and remember:

Was that? Yep. A spark. Oh my God. How? Why? Couldn’t be. What was he supposed to do? Did the short, red haired, muscle the size of He-man notice? Hope not. No time for another male. Can’t keep up with the spitfire eight-year-old brother that was his to raise. Mother of all, why had his mother abandoned her youngest son? Why had she waited twelve years to have a second child for her to ruin?
“You okay?”
Shit. Not good.
“Let’s get you sat down.” The red haired man took hold of his arm, tugging him over to the metal bench under a Weeping Willow. He loved the way their branches surrounded him in a cocoon of warmth. Many of nights he spent burying his nose in a book under the one in the backyard while his mother and step-father shouted at one another until they passed out or puked all the beer they drunk during the day.
“Take a sip. Please.” Rough knuckles brushed his cheek. “Please.”
His mouth parted as plastic pressed against his lips. Cool water slid over his tongue and trickled down his throat.
“That’s it.” Deep sexy voice sent chills over his spine. “What’s your name?”
Taking a second sip gave him time to decide if it was wise to answer the question or not. If he did . . . The red haired man might think he was fair game. What kept him from doing so in the first place? Clearly, he’d saw the bright yellow spark flowing between them. The one true sign his kind was cursed with when they ran across their soul mate.
“Mine’s Timothy Green.”
Course, hardworking skin, fingers brushed a drop of water from his lips. Could he deny the man? No. Raptors, a dying out race of pre-histroical creatures, were dying out. Didn’t matter what sex you were. Each Raptor was born with the inate desire to reproduce once they ran across the one who owned their other half. Either could, and most of the time did, bare children. At least one. His mother, one of the rare female of his race, bore two. One on purpose. Him. He was to ease the urge in her. She never wanted children. Didn’t deserve them. She couldn’t take care of herself. Robert had been an accident. There was no way he could . . . No. Children wasn’t in his future. He had to think about his brother. Robert deserved a better life than he had. He could give him that much.
“You are shocked.” A hand ran across his head, knocking his hair off his forehead. “Understandable. Not everyday you run across your destined one.” The guy sat back, kicking his leg out. “We’ll take things as slow as you want.”
Great, did that mean he would leave him be for the rest of his life? He hoped so.
“Would help me if I knew your name.”
Was telling him such a bad thing? Timothy deserved to know who was going to leave him broken hearted, didn’t he? “Caleb.”
“Nice to meet you.”

Caleb’s phone beeped, reminding him he had to get to Robert’ school. “Got to go.” He stood and darted down the sideways, leaving behind him a gaping Timothy.

Flash Fiction Scene – Change sucks

This is yet another week of fiction that comes from my own emotional state of mind. Sorry for such dreary post the last couple of times. I promise I will try to lighten the mood next week, but as anyone with a creative bone in their body knows, you go where your mind takes you.
Have a great week.

Life can suck worse than a thumb tack stuck in your foot. Okay, maybe worse since the thumb tack can be removed. Change . . . it can’t be avoided. Not even if it is going to upend years of hard work and years of staying stable and in control of your own mind. Nope. It can’t be avoided. Change sucks.
“What is it?” Soft hand slid under my hair, picking up the gentle massage that always soothed my racing through. “You’re going to get lines.”
I huffed, not worrying about lines, but it was typical comment from Mark. The man obsessed over his flawless perfection. I had to agree his rich brown skin was the second thing that drew me to him. First, was his masculine, slightly slanted cheek bones. He was perfection served on a silver platter.
“Ricky . . .”
Oh boy, I was in for it. He never called me by my whole first name, unless he thought I was being childish. Might have been. No need for him to worry over my own stability when I was going to be doing it enough for the next few months.
“I mean it, babe. Tell me what is going on.”
Wasn’t going to bring him down with me. He didn’t need to worry over my ass. He done that enough over the years. Nope. Not bothering him with this issue. Going to keep it . . . Who was I trying to kid. My mouth opened and let it spill free, relieving some of the tension ebbing through my veins.
“My therapist isn’t working for the company anymore. Means I’m going to have to change doctors as well.” I waited for the nod of understanding or the look of sadness mixed with dread, but what I got was way worse. I think. Maybe not. Not sure. Either way, my lover of five years took my mind off the pending change.
“You aren’t the same person. You overcome so much, this will be like taking that long haired little white and gray animal you call Bandit for his daily walk. Doable in your sleep.”

My mouth was pressed against his before the last word hit my ears. It wasn’t the least bit of a sexy kiss, but it wasn’t meant to be. It was meant to show him just how much I appreciated his confidence in me, even if I was sure his words were wrong. It helped to hear encouraging words. It helped to have someone take note of all the progress I made over the years. Other words, my lover did exactly what he always did. Eased my distress.

Flash Fiction Scene – Life Long Love

Hi all,

I must have been feeling kind of sad when I wrote this week’s post, but guess we all have those days. Still, I hope the post entertains you and gives you an insight to how deep love can run.
Have a great week.

The back of Darrel’s hand ran across his face, staring down at his hand. Something wasn’t right? Why was he staring at his hand? Were there more tears gracing his tanned skin? Should have been. How could there not be? Did it mean love didn’t run as deep as two lovers believed? Had to have. His father and Darrel had been together for thirty years, ten of which before dad and him decided to extend their family by adopting. July 10 of 1996 had been the best day any foster child the age of five could have.
“You okay, baby?” Kimp wrapped an arm around him.
‘Fine, sweetie.”
“Liar.” Kimp kissed his cheek, squeezing his waist. “Jake, I’ve been at your side for six years and when you nibble on your lower lip there’s something amiss in your perfect world.”
Course he knew me. Kimp ran across the track field, right in the middle of a hurdle challenge, after he got one look. It’d been kind of funny. Kimp had been the star of the track and field event, but instead of heading to his next jump he diverted directions and charged towards some college freshman with an arm load of books who’d stumbled to the wrong section of campus.
“Okay. Not so fine.”
Kimp didn’t respond, with words at least, but his raised eyebrow and one eye stare spoke volumes. His lover wanted him to continue.
“Darrel . . . he was wiping his face again and . . . he seemed . . . There he goes again.”
Kimp titled his head from side to side, frowning. “He’s upset. Isn’t that expected?”
“Yes.” More than, but . . . “Watch. He’ll look at his hand.”
“So?”
“Why?”
Kimp shrugged. “He lost his lover in the most horrifying way. I’m sure Darrel is upset.”
“But he’s not wiping his hand as if . . .”
“You don’t think he’s crying?” Kimp took hold of his chin. “I’m promise you, he is crying. Inside, if nowhere else.”
“Then why . . .”
“Darrel and your dad lived a long happy life together. He will cry many nights, even years from now, but crying don’t require tears each time. Maybe . . . He might be surprised not to feel any tears. It doesn’t really matter does it?”

Did it? No. He knew Darrel loved his father. He’d seen them together each day of their live for the last twenty years. There were no two people more in love than his father and Darrel. Well . . . besides him and Kimp. There was no way . . . He wasn’t going there. Nope. Not even bringing that possibility to life. If he thought, it . . .  He was not jinxing his and Kimp’s life. He never wanted to experience losing his lifelong love.

Flash Fiction Scene – Peaceful World

The high-noon sun glistened off the sheets of metal spread over the dark brown grass, which had been starved for water and light for over ten years. Rivers of life giving blood had soaked into the ground after each hard fought battle between us mere humans and Rice Hunger’s killing robotic army. Those days was long behind us, Chewy hoped.
Part of him thought he didn’t deserve to see the future peaceful world that awaited all the tried patrons of the world. He’d contributed to the demise of the earth and humanity all for love. Rice Hunger had been a marvelous man when he met him. Had a well-laid out plan of halting the destruction of the earth. Swore he could eliminate hunger, poverty, and violence. Nothing but lies of a power hungry greedy man.
Rice had stolen his research on how affordable and time saving people having robots to do their daily chores were and given it a scientist who manupliated my idea and created an army of fighters.
“Chewy,” Chris patted his shoulder, “you need medical help?”
“Nope.” Even if he did, he hadn’t earned it and wouldn’t accept it. “Anyone harmed?”
“No. CR worked perfect. Took out all six of Rice’s robots in one sweep of his arm.”
“Good.” More than. Meant he could begin more hour and hours of redeeming hard work.
“How long you need to make enough to break Rice’s strong hold?”
Chewy had no idea. Rice’s scienstist knew he worked the last six years on creating something to aid the world, meaning he’d been stockpiling more army robots. Chewy hadn’t been able to do the same. He had shell after shell of robots ready for the microchip that would operate them, but it took time to code each of them.
“Not sure. I’m going to get right to work, though.”
He didn’t wait for Chris to object to him going back to the grind.

The time had come. He wasn’t ready. Nerves ate at his skin, causing him to rub his arm to a blood red color. Ironic, sort of. The Crystal Ball two feet in front of him was about to tell him, Rex Bawford, his future. Would he become a White Dragon, a dragon who guided people from the sky. A Yellow Dragon, the cowardly kind who hid among the caves. A Black Dragon, destroyer of enemies. Or would he become the awesome, mighty protector of the dragon world, a Blood Red Dragon.
“Son, it’s time.”
Rex nodded to his father, the head dragon of the East Coast. He lifted his arm, which felt as if ninety pound weights hung from it and hovered his hand over the ancient smooth clear Crystal Ball. In seconds his future would be decided. Was he ready? Yes. No. Loads rested on the color the ball turned. Not only his future, but his father’s and his pre-chosen man. Yellow could condemn his father’s lifetime of hard work. Make all the hours his father spent apart from him and his chosen woman for nothing. Doom his prechosen man to a life of hardship and derogation by the other West Coast dragons. Blood Red could up his father’s standings and make his prechosen man more powerful than any other among the West Coast, sealing his place as the future leader,
Weight of  two powerful men rested on his shoulder. Did he have the strength and courage to lower his hand the mere inches?
“Son,” his father’s voice never wavered or took on an air of command, but Rex knew his father meant for him to get on with putting him at ease.
Rex lowered his hand and watched as the Crystal Ball swirled with white, yellow, black, and red. The white faded away, leaving a heavy mist of yellow, black, and red. The black faded away, increasing Rex’s already pounding heart. He heard his father take a deep breath, but never heard him release it. How could he, his ears thumped loud enough  to drown out a fog horn. He squeezed his eyes closed as the yellow and red colors thickened. He couldn’t watch. If the red disappeared . . .
“Welcome Defender of the East Coast.”
Rex’s eye flew wide. He’d done it. His father’s and his prechosen man’s world was secure. He would protect and serve the East and West Coast Dragons. There were only four Red Dragon’s born each generation.
Rex exhaled and nodded at his father, who grinned for the first time in front of other dragons.
“Defender when will you take your place at your chosen’s side?”
Rex glanced to his left, taking in the long blonde haired man, waiting for him. “Today, sir.”
Rex knew his father hadn’t expected that response. Most took a week or two before they left for their new area, but Rex didn’t want to make his prechosen have to wait to take his rightful spot as leader for another day. He’d waited ten years already. No sense in making it another day.
“Fine.” His father waved his hand and the other dragon’s left with haste.
The noise died down and Cal, his prechosen walked up to his side, squeezing him close. “You know I would’ve been pleased even if you weren’t a Red Dragon.”
“I know, love.” Cal had told Red that multiple times, but he knew how much Cal wanted to lead the West Coast.
“Son,” his dad glanced at Cal and then at him, not bothering to hide his disdain for his son being chosen by a future male leader. His father liked the fact that his son had a chance at becoming a Red Dragon, but had wanted him to choose a woman and give him grand-dragons. “Why are you leaving so soon? Your mother wanted to throw you a exiting party.”
“I know, sir.”
“Then why?”
“Cal deserves to take his place. He chose me ten years ago. He’s waited long enough.”
“This isn’t wise son.”
“Sir, I’m not having this discussion with you again.” Rex wrapped his arm around Cal’s waist. It had taken him a most of his teenage years to come to an understanding of why Cal chose him. He hand never expected him to be chosen by a future male leader, mainly because his father frowned on men being with men. His father had been so vocal about it that Rex had suppressed the fact that he’d found men attractive since he was thirteen. A year and half before Cal chose him.
“Leader Timely,” Cal’s voice held nothing but respect, but Rex knew Cal and his father weren’t on the best terms. “I have told him multiple times that it was fine for him to remain here for the entire month your dragons are allowed, but he is adamant about leaving tonight.”
“In other words,” his father interjected, “you will not order him to.”
“I will not.”
Cal had promised Rex he would never order him around. Cal didn’t believe that him being a leader put him in a higher ranking position than a Red Dragon. Not many Leaders think such.
“Fine.” His father sighed. “I have no other options than to let him leave today.”
Rex gave him a small bow of thanks. “I’ll make sure to see mom before I leave.”

“You best.” His father spun on his heels and left without another word.

Davey couldn’t believe it. How had he overlooked it? He never once thought Greg was interested in him, but here he stood in the buff with a huge boner and said it was all because of him. What was the right response to your best friend of six years, who secretly been the man claiming his fantasies while jacking himself off?
“Do you like what you see?”
Boy did he, but the ability to speak evaded him.
“Going to stand there and stare of help me solve my problem?”
Help him. Davey basically leapt to the living room doorway, luckily dodging the sofa that blocked his direct path to Greg, and yanked Greg against him as he sealed his lips over his.
Perfection. There was no other way to describe how soft and lush Greg’s thin and narrow lips were. One sensual lick and his sexy mouth parted enough for him to gain the first taste of his best friend. There would be no going back from them. No one else would sate the hunger that flared to life the minute Greg showed interest in him
Davey tugged Greg close when he broke the kiss. “You know what this means, right?”
Suckie time to ask. Davey’s entire heart had been engaged at the first touch.
“Sure do. Knew when I walked in here. No, take me, before we both combust.”

All Davey needed to hear.

Raquel was tired of her life. Parents that controlled every move she made. Chosen fiancé who believed all women were meant for being in the home and popping out male children. Not a life Raquel wanted or dreamed of. Sure was a life she’d have no hardship leaving behind the moment her best friend came through with selling a family heirloom for her. Raquel hated parting with her grandmother’s diamond ring, but she knew it was what her grandmother would have wanted.
A light knock on the back of her window had Raquel jumping from her bed and darting to the window. She raised it and waved Ashely in. “Did he buy it?”
Ashley didn’t say a thing, simply handed her a green bank style bag and climbed back out the window. Ashley wasn’t being rude, she was preventing any chance of them getting caught. Raquel’s parents would kill Ashely for helping her plan an escape and then lock Raquel in the attic, or somewhere worse.

The zipper on the bag was stiff, but slid across the line, revealing the nicely pressed and bundled up hundred dollar bills. The buyer had indeed came through. Raquel stashed the money in her prepacked bag and left the prison style home she’d lived in for her entire life. She didn’t pause to look back, there was no reason to. She was going to claim the life she wanted.

What had he been thinking. He hadn’t been. He had been, but with his dick instead of his brain. What a freaking cliché mess he’d gotten himself into. What was he suppose to say to the man. “Sorry, I asked you out on a date, but I can’t be seen out on the town with you.” Yeah, that’d get his ass kicked for sure.
“Hey, Paul. What you doing on this side of town?”
So not who he wanted to see. Peter was the biggest gossiper around. He’d have no qualms about running straight to his church going parents, shouting about how he saw their son gallivanting around town with a man.
“Just took a walk.” How much lamer of an excuse could be given?
“Thought you only wore that question mark keychain on special occasions.”
Paul did. It had been his brother’s and he’d left it with him the day he shipped out to Afganstan. His brother wasn’t one of the lucky ones who made it back home. His brother had been a rock for him. He had known his preference for men and told him it made him better than most people around the world. That he knew what loving someone for life meant if he could show anyone such deep devotion. His brother had told him multiple times to stand up to their parents and be himself. Paul told his brother that when he came home from the war he’d do so. His brother had slapped him on the back and said deal, but don’t stop living until then.
“Paul, you okay?”
What was he suppose to tell Peter? He wasn’t? He was letting his brother down. He’d wore the question mark because today was the day he was going to be in public with his lover of two years. He’d wore it to honor his brother’s memory and a promise he’d made to him.
“Paul,” Tommy’s voice flowed from behind him, easing the tight muscles in his shoulder.
Paul spun around and held his hand out to Tommy, before he gave a second thought as to who was around.

He couldn’t believe it. He’d spent forty years looking for his other half and she’d been right under his nose for the last twenty years. How had they never ran into one another? More importantly, how did he get her attention. She was a ray of sunshine that would light the darkest day.
“Orton,” Rave his best friend salpped him on the back. “you going to stare at her all day or go over and introduce yourself.”
“huh?”
“I can tell she’s your other half.”
“How?”
“Your face is all gooey looking and you’ve been staring at her for the last five minutes and missed the entire battle plan layout.”
Shoot, he’d forgotten their reason for being in town. Rave had the right to punch him out for endangering the entire squard by him being distracted.
“Go on man. Get your fix of her and then meet back up headquarters to get briefed.”
“Sure thing.” Orton walked away mumbling a bye to the other three guys. He heard them chuckle, but his full attention was on the wondrous blonde mere feet away from him.
“Hi.” He said when he came up to her side.
“Hey.” She smiled at him. “Can I help you with something?”
Boy could she, but first he had to get her name. “I saw you from across the street and . . .” Wow what a lame come on he was about to give, but his mind was blank on what else to say.
“And you what?”
“Wanted to ask your name.”
“Olena.”
Fit perfect, she’d be the light in his darkness, if he could get his mouth to work right.
“Beautiful name. Would you mind getting a cup of coffee with me?”
She ran her eyes over him a couple of times then tossed her head toward the small shop behind her. “Let’s go.”

“This is too much, Kenny.”
It wasn’t. To him it was penny. He had more than enough to give her a grand or two. Not like his sister every asked for anything before. Kelly was the most determine woman he knew. She thought any help was a handout and she refused to take them. She wanted to make it on her own, not on the money her brother worked hard to gain.
“Take it.”
“No.”
“It’s a gift. Do you refuse gifts.” Kenny knew that was a low blow comment, but he wanted his sister to have her own house, and the bank demanded a down payment of ten grand. Kelly had eight of it.
“It’s too much. You know how I feel about - -“
“I know. It’s either you take this money or I go and pay the entire down payment for you.”
“You would not.”
“I would. You deserve that house. You’ve built your company up from the scratch. Before long it will be the most popular massage parlor in the world.” Okay, that might have been a bit overboard, but it was the truth. Kelly had worked hard. She had built her company from the bottom up. And it could go worldwide if she worked hard enough.
“You can be sweet, but a pain in the ass, brother.”

“I know. Take the money and don’t make me piss you off any more than you are.”

Harvey squared his shoulder and knocked on the door. Each time he came to visit his best friend, he struggled with his hormone. Herald was the perfect male specimen. Abs that begged to be licked. Shoulders the longed to be massaged. An ass that deserved eating and fucking every day of its life. Problem was Herald preferred a plump woman than a stud.
“About time you got here.” Herald grinned and waved him inside. “Pizza on the coffee table and the movie is cued up.”
There typical buddies’ night out. There was no talk of relationship or work, only good ole fashion guy’s night out. The highlight and dreaded night of Harvey’s week. There was nothing, but being on his deathbed that kept him away from Thursday nights.
“What’s the movie of the night?” Harvey asked as he tugged his coat off.
“Started to torture you with a romantic, but . . .”
“You knew I’d kick your butt if you did.”
“You’d try.” Herald sat on the couch and tossed the pizza box lid open. “It’s your favorite, meat lovers with onions and peppers.”
“Sounds good.” He snatched a slice and kicked the feet of the recliner up.
Harvey had just started the movie when the doorbell rang.
Herald sighed and stood. “Got to be a sales man. Give me a minute.”
Harvey took a bite of pizza and listened as Herald open the door.
“What you doing here?”
“Wanted to see you.”

And there in laid the biggest problem in his life, Herald’s girlfriend of five years.

“You will not do this.” Freddy shouted at his sister.
“You have no right to tell me what I can and can’t do.” She shouted back.
“Franny, I do. I’m the eldest and only living relative you have. It is my decision if, when, and who you mate.”
“By four minutes. Not enough time to give you the right to dictate to me.” His sister squared her shoulder, clueing him in on the upcoming bombshell she was about to drop. “Our Pride Leader agrees with me.”
Why in the world would Pride Leader Combs think his sister would be better off choosing a mate instead of waiting for her predestined mate? Freddy wouldn’t let his sister ruin her life. “No. I won’t give my blessings. You have to have at least one family member’s agreement and I’m it for our family.”
Franny’s shoulder slumped and she threw her head back and roared. “By the lions above, why do you have to be so stubborn.”
“Because,” Freddy stepped towards her and wrapped an arm around her. “Our parents were chosen mates and you see how badly their relationship was.” Their mom and dad had fought every day of their life, right up until his father lost control of his lion and killed her, ending his life minutes later. He didn’t want his sister to follow in their footsteps. He wanted her to have a love filled life, one she could only gain from finding her predestined mate.
“I know this, Freddy, but I’m not them. I’m not going to pick the first lion that shows interest in me. I just want happiness.”
“Then wait until you find your destined one.”
“It is rare for us to find such a love. You know this.”
He did, but it was what he wanted for his sister. “I’ll make sure you visit every lion pride in the world, if you will just wait to find your one true love.”
“Freddy, please don’t make me wait.”
Freddy wasn’t going to give on this point. He’d made his mind up the moment Tobby had begun showing interest in his sister. Tobby was a devious lion, who would do anything to promote his standing. Nothing would do so better than marrying the second richest person among the pride.
“No. You’ve heard my answer.” He laid a hand on his sister’s shoulder. “I’m sorry if it makes you unhappy, but it’s for the best in the long run.”

“We’ll see about this.” Franny spun around and stomped towards the pride leader’s home.

Emmanuel watched as he first ray of sunlight consumed the sky. He’d always loved earlier morning. Feeding and watering the horses before his brothers and sisters were up and running around was the best, or it had been until he met Eli at his grandfather’s bakery. Eli had come in to buy some of the famous cinnamon bread while Emmanuel had been tending the counter. The first thing Emmanuel noticed was the man’s broad chest.
Took him by surprise when his manhood perked up. Scared him more than anything. Men didn’t react to men that way. It was a sin. One that would get his entire family shunned. He’d pushed the thought of Eli away every morning for the last two months. It had begun to affect his working skills, so his father decided it was time to send him on his year away from the community that gave him time to learn how the English lived and decide which path his life would take.
“You ready, son?”
Emmanuel nodded and climbed into the buggy beside his father. “Where will you be dropping me off at?”
“A mile from town.” His father clicked his tongue, getting the horses headed in the right direction. “It will not be easy living among them. You sure you are ready for this?”
“I am.”
More than his father would ever know. He needed this time away to figure out why he was so drawn to a man. He needed time to rid himself of those  horrid thoughts. He needed to see those rich brown eyes again.
They rode in silence until the dirt road turned into pavement. His father pulled to the side and dug into his jacket pocket. “Here you go.”
Emmanuel took the bills his father handed him and looked at them.
“It’s not much, but the point of this time away is to make it on your own. This will get you started. Good luck and take care.”

Emmanuel stepped down and watched his father turn the buggy back toward their little Amish Community. When the buggy disappeared from sight, he sighed and made his way down the road. His life would be changed forever, no matter what he found when he entered town.

Doris sat there staring at the door instead of answering it when the bell rung. How had she gotten herself into this mess? She wasn’t irresponsible. Okay, just once, and boy was it a doosy. The bell rang a second time, forcing her to get up and open the door.
Daniel looked as sexy as he had three months ago when they’d met at the bar and then left together. His rich chocolate colored hair sway to the left with a little curl at the tip of his bangs. His bright smile made her knees go weak. Okay, that might have been due to why she’d reached out to him after three months.
“Hi, how are you?”
“Fine.” What a lie Doris. “Come on in, Daniel. Would you like something to drink?”
“No. I’m fine.” Daniel took off his windbreaker and laid it over his arm. “I was thrilled to hear from you.”
He was then, but would he been when she told him her news. Would he think her a slut? Someone after support? Doris wasn’t neither. She didn’t need anyone’s money. Her parents left her well off. She wasn’t someone who slept around. Daniel was the second man she’d ever been with.
“Doris,” Daniel touched her arm. “You okay?”
“Yes.” No. “Why do you ask?”
“You’re whiter than the curtains hanging over your bay style window.”
“Oh.” Doris sighed. “Let’s take a seat. Got something to tell you.” She sat down in the recliner, hoping the distance between them would give her a bit of courage.
“Shoot. Can’t be as bad as what your face says it is.”
She hoped he didn’t think so. “Keep that thought in mind.” Doris sat up a bit taller and squared her shoulders. “You know how we got carried away three months ago?”
“Sure do. Most amazing night in my life.”
“Well, I hope you still think so.”
“Why would I not?”
“I’m pregnant.” There was the reaction she was looking for. White as a sheet of paper and an open mouth. What she hadn’t expected was the huge smile that fell into place a second later.
“You are?”

Doris nodded, but before she stopped Daniel had her up in his arms, placing light kisses over her face.

He gave his rich brown horse a small nudge to the ribs as he did a mental double check of his supplies.
Sleeping bags. Check.
Lube. Check.
Condoms. Check.
He had the main three items that was needed for his and Cody’s night out. It’d been a month since the two of them had been able to sneak away from the farmhouse. Oh, they had their own room, but there were also four other hands that lived in the house. All of which, were straight. Didn’t seem fair, or Cody didn’t thinks so, to give them a quick lesson on how to male lovers could get when riled up.
“Where you off to boss man?” Clyde asked as he rode up black haired horse up beside him. “Got a hot date I should know about?”
“Sure do.” Clyde grinned at his lover.
“Sounds like a hoot. Where you taking her?”
“Now, Cody Rambler, you know me better than that. I’m a true gentleman.” Clyde winked. “And it’s not a her.”
Cody’s dark brown eyebrows shot up in mock shock. “Well, then. Just what is it?”
“A stud with all the right parts to make me scream his name.”
Cody reached out and tugged on his reins, stopping both of their horses. “Then give me a preview of what’s to come for this stud of yours.”
Clyde had no problem doing so. He leaned over and ran his tongue over the contours of his lips and then up to his ear. He nipped the soft skin right behind Cody’s ear and then said, “Why don’t I just show you, stud.”

Clyde felt Cody shiver and drop his reins. Next thing Clyde knew Cody had kicked his heels and was racing toward the path that lead to the creek they spent many of nights at.

Brooke fluffed the ends of her hair. Brady had called her last night and asked her to meet him at their hometown diner at six. She loved when he came in for some time with her. He’d gotten into the University two towns over and lived in the dorms, so their time together had been limited since he started college. It took her time to adjust to him not being around like he had since their freshman year. They’d met her first day in town and two weeks later they were dating. They’d been clued to one another since then.
“Hot date tonight, Sis.”
“Brady’s coming in.”
“Something up or surprise visit?”
“Surprise visit.”
Brooke hoped that he was going to bring up the subject of marriage again. He had three weeks ago when he came in for the weekend. Okay, she had brought it up. He’d reacted like most men and changed the subject.
“Well then,” her brother winked at her, “enjoy you time with him.”
“Always do.”

Her brother paused as he went to leave. “Just not too much fun or I’ll have to hunt him down.”

Day 1 of the A to Z April Blogging Challenge 2016

Adam remained out of sight as the red-headed beauty battled for her life. She had the perfect round house kick and her punches were solid. She was also making his partner sweat, which not many did. Part of him screamed, “Get your partner’s back. You have a job to do.” Another part of him, the biggest part, was intrigued by the battling beauty.

He knew he shouldn’t be. After all she was a demon, his job was to eliminate them from the world. Adam’s boss didn’t believe in letting one demon go, but there was something about the woman in front of him.

“You going to help me out here.” His partner shouted as he dodged a right hook.

“Looks like you have it under control.” It didn’t. The red-headed beauty that Adam’s boss called Angel Combat slammed the heel of her foot into his partner’s knee, sending him to the ground.
His partner rolled to his left, barely missing the hard foot that was headed for his head. “Quit staring and help me get her.”

Adam sighed and walked up behind the woman, clamping his arms around her waist and arms before she could spin around and attack him.

“Let’s calm down.”

“Hell, no.”

“Now, that’s no way for a beautiful woman to speak to the man who’s going to save her.

“Sure is if he’s going to kill me to save me.”

“Who said such a thing?” Adam knew his partner hadn’t, but the woman, like all demons, knew that if a Demon Bounty Hunter came a calling that they were dead if caught.

“Thanks.” His partner jumped to his feet and pulled the light silver demon blade from his side.

“Why’d you watch for so long. We’ve got six more hits tonight.”

Adam didn’t know. Nor did he know why his cock was growing each time the red-headed beauty squirmed. It was a reaction he’d never experienced before. Demon Bounty Hunters weren’t allowed to be attracted to anyone. Some claimed they had been, but they’d always recounted their words after speaking to the leader of them. Their excuse had been that a demon had controlled their body. Adam knew no one was controlling him. He was more than aware of how his body was reacting to the woman he was supposed to kill.

His partner’s blade glowed white as he pulled it over his head. Just as the blade began moving toward Angel, Adam spun so his back would take the blow. The blade wouldn’t hurt him; it was designated to kill only evil.

“What are you doing?” His partner shouted.

Adam had no idea, but he wasn’t letting Angel die.

Blank Mind - Update Post

Hi,

Hope all had an amazing week. Didn’t have a scene that came to mind to me this week, so you get an update and reminder post.

I’m hard at work on editing book 3 of the Human Skinned Wolves Series and have book 4 ready for a final read through before taking it into edits. Even with those two progressing I’m working on some free writes and other revisions of another stories. So, I’m keeping myself pretty busy. Let’s not forget that during all this I’m preparing for the A to Z April Blogging Challenge. I’m jazzed about the all websites I’ll get to visit this year. Each year I get a thrill from gaging what so many others are posting about.

That’s it for this week. Hope you all have an amazing week.
Remember: Let your imagination soar when you read.
