Brooke fluffed the ends of her hair. Brady had called her last night and asked her to meet him at their hometown diner at six. She loved when he came in for some time with her. He’d gotten into the University two towns over and lived in the dorms, so their time together had been limited since he started college. It took her time to adjust to him not being around like he had since their freshman year. They’d met her first day in town and two weeks later they were dating. They’d been clued to one another since then.
“Hot date tonight, Sis.”
“Brady’s coming in.”
“Something up or surprise visit?”
“Surprise visit.”
Brooke hoped that he was going to bring up the subject of marriage again. He had three weeks ago when he came in for the weekend. Okay, she had brought it up. He’d reacted like most men and changed the subject.
“Well then,” her brother winked at her, “enjoy you time with him.”
“Always do.”

Her brother paused as he went to leave. “Just not too much fun or I’ll have to hunt him down.”
